Fashion Week. It's a wrap!

Mercedes Benz Fashion week is a treat I look forward to each year.

I love the beautiful fashion on the runway and the gorgeous people I'm fortunate enough to meet for my stories. When it comes to "street style" anything goes at fashion week and no one is there to judge, only celebrate each other's individual, quirky, beautiful style!

This year I was lucky enough to interview an Angel! In the (beautiful) flesh, Victoria's Secret Angel, Alessandra Ambrosio seems strong, natural and healthy. Refreshingly, she's more toned than super-skinny.  The Brazilian model and mum of two (can you believe it!) told me the key to "sexy" is confidence.. "And with confidence you can take over the world!".  It's working for her!
Ruby Rose is the gorgeous face of Maybelline. I wanted to grab a coffee and continue our chat about dewey natural makeup, how it takes sooo much longer to "look natural"  and  skinny models- for the record Ruby is sick of the negativity around fashion week and says journalists should support Australian fashion by actually focussing on it during fashion week.

Good call, but seeing a very skinny Cassi Van Dungen walk for Alex Perry was quite shocking and sad and shouldn't be accepted.

As for Ruby, my cameraman and I fell in love! She's beautiful inside and out. A girl I also admire so much for her anti-bullying advocacy.

These Sydney sisters are the ones to watch. The girls grew up in Edgecliff so their designs are very "Sydney", so sophisticated but very cool and fresh. Great for a casual weekend look or something stylish for work.  Tessa and Beth are smart business girls who use social media in a big way for their marketing. Backstage, the models taught me catwalk and I taught them television!

There is something regal about fashion stalwart Carla. She's been in the fashion game for more than four decades. Her designs are investment pieces, but don't be mistaken thinking Zampatti is  for the "mature woman". Her new collection is full of brights, playsuits, faux fur and sheer or peek-a-boo sexy dresses.

A big thank you to the team at Ten Wardrobe, Hair & Make-up and also Sheike for dressing me for Fashion Week.

Looking Fresh - My favourite beauty products

When you go to work every day knowing you'll be on television, you always want to look your best.  I've tried a lot of skincare and beauty products and I now have my skincare and makeup routine down pat!

I'm lucky enough to have wonderful experts in the television makeup department who've showed me how to do my own makeup perfectly (yes news reporters do their own hair and makeup every day!).  They've also showed me all the best brands and products which they buy and recommend.

I believe it doesn't have to be expensive or complicated to have a great beauty regime which really works and brings out the best in you.  Plus, if you buy the right products you don't waste time and money on the wrong ones, right!?

Here are my favorite products:

Hourglass
The right concealer is so hard to find!  I need a concealer which does it all.  Who really wants to carry around two?  This Hourglass concealer is thick enough to cover blemishes and smooth and creamy enough to brighten up shadows under the eyes.  It also has serious staying power.

Dior Foundation
My Dior Forever foundation and I have been together since I was 18 years old and it's never let me down.  A foundation should bring out your beauty, not cover it up.  This is a light, matte coverage with no shine with a really natural finish.  I wear bronzer, blush and powder to work so wearing too much foundation underneath can look a bit overdone.

Laura Mercier liquid eye liner
I do not know what I'd do without this product!  I wear liquid liner to work every day.  It really makes eyes "pop" on telly.  I put it on thicker for a night time look, even with a bit of a wing at the edges.  I also love liquid liner during the day.  It's nice to line just the top lid for the weekend.

Laura Mercier lip gloss
This this magic lip creme is a mix between a lipstick and a gloss it's super natural and gives you a bit of colour, yet it looks like you're wearing nothing at all.

Feel free to share any of your favourite products below.  I am always on the look out to roadtest new things!
